About Finer Property
Finer Property was founded by James Finger with a decade of hands-on experience in strata building maintenance. We exist to give boutique North Shore buildings the consistent, practical care they deserve.

Founder story
From managing burst water mains and mould remediation to overseeing full-scale window replacements and emergency storm damage, I have spent the last decade resolving the most pressing issues boutique buildings face.
My experience taught me a hard truth: without a dedicated point of contact for physical maintenance, even the best-run schemes fall into a cycle of "crisis management." Finer Property was established to shift the burden from volunteer committees to a professional partner.
We offer a "Remote-Local" model that combines digital transparency with frequent on-site inspections. By providing consistent reporting and reliable trade coordination, we ensure your building remains an asset, not a source of stress.

What we believe
- Proactive maintenance saves money. Catching a small leak early costs a fraction of fixing water damage months later.
- Communication is care. A committee that's informed is a committee that can make good decisions. Every visit produces a clear, written summary.
- Transparency builds trust. No commissions from trades, no hidden margins. Quotes and scope are always shared openly.
- Volunteers deserve support. Committee members give their time for free. The least they deserve is reliable, professional follow-through on building issues.
How we work with trades
Finer Property is not a licensed trade business. We don't do plumbing, electrical, or fire safety work ourselves. Instead, we coordinate licensed, insured contractors โ scoping the work clearly, obtaining fair quotes, and following up on completion.
This independence means we recommend trades based on quality and fair pricing โ not commissions or referral arrangements.
